Grates
Caldema can always offer the best solution for the fuel burning available by the customer. Our extensive experience in burning solid fuels led to the development of various types of grate, each designed and tested according to the characteristics of each type of fuel.
DUMPING GRATE:
The most traditional alternative to sugarcane bagasse burning in Brazil, as well as broad penetration in Latin America. Used to biomass in general: sugarcane bagasse, wood chips, bark, pine and eucalyptus bites. Discharge of ash per section with automatic activation and manual or automatic withdrawal with jets of steam or water.
The wide experience Caldema has in providing this type of grate led to the development of materials, air distribution and design elements that ensure efficient burning and low maintenance.
CALDEMA’S ROTARY GRATE / JOHN THOMPSON "SELF CLEAN":
It is the result of decades of experience in the burning of cane and coal residue, and biomass with high ash content (pine bark and eucalyptus, sawdust, forest residues, etc.), the best alternative for reliable generation of steam and power electric when the ash content in the fuel requires continuous movement of the grate. This movement ensures the removal of ashes without change in flow or pressure of the steam produced. The continued development of the project, based on information obtained in numerous facilities; make the difference in Caldema’s Rotary Grill, enabling them to offer a device with reduced maintenance costs and high efficiency of burning. Caldema used as partner suppliers the Detroit Stoker (USA) and John Thompson
Advantages of Rotary Grid:
- Low power consumption (<1.1 kW)
- Cooled spindle air (There isn’t water consumption for shaft cooling)
- Catenary tensioned, eliminating the need for a separate tensioning devices.
- Self-lubricating carbon bearings, without cooling.
- Tensioned front foundation spring which keeps the elements closed to prevent retention of stones and foreign materials.
- Open and hanging elements for self cleaning when it comes back.
- High quality and heat-resistant cast iron elements.
- Ribbed elements to provide stiffness and to maximize the cooling air.
- Simple mechanical construction, with a smaller amount of moving parts.
- Variable speed drive through high torque gearbox and universal docking device.
GRATE PHC (CONTINUOUSLY PIN HOLE):
The best alternative to Central Thermoelectric sugarcane bagasse. Cleaning the ashes without any change in the flow and pressure of the steam produced. Fully automated operation, with control of the cleaning interval according to the specific conditions of each fuel. No moving parts - proven alternative with lower maintenance costs. It consists of cooled castings with water, which allows high temperature air combustion, suitable for burning biomass with high moisture content. Efficient cleaning system consists of steam injection nozzles with developed materials and geometry through the experience gained by Caldema in various facilities.
